A tire puncture barrier, also called a “tire spike barrier” or “spike strip,” is a device designed to rapidly deflate a vehicle’s tires by puncturing them with sharp metal spikes when the vehicle drives over it, effectively forcing the vehicle to stop due to loss of air pressure; it usually consists of a strip with rows of protruding spikes embedded in the ground or placed on the road surface.
