An X-ray screening system is a security device that uses low-dose X-ray radiation to create an image of the contents within a bag, package, or even a person’s body, allowing security personnel to identify potential threats like weapons, explosives, or contraband by detecting items with different densities that would appear differently on the image; it works by emitting X-rays which pass through the object, are then captured by a detector on the other side, generating a visual representation on a monitor for analysis by an operator.
