A BNC terminator is a specialized BNC connector that contains a built-in resistor, designed to be attached to the end of a coaxial cable to prevent signal reflections by matching the cable’s impedance, thus minimizing signal degradation and interference when a signal reaches the end of a transmission line; essentially acting as a “dummy load” to absorb the signal instead of bouncing back.
