A proximity card encoder is a device that writes unique identification codes onto proximity cards, essentially “programming” them so they can be read by a proximity card reader when held close by, allowing for access control or other identification purposes without the need for physical contact; it essentially functions by encoding data onto a small chip embedded within the card, which is then transmitted via an antenna when near a reader.
